Guided trips on Kebnekaise.

Two summit days, a glacier and ice-axe course, and private guiding. Every trip starts at Kebnekaise mountain station. Dates and prices are examples for the 2027 season, in US dollars.

The two classic routes

Same summit, two ways up.

Both routes leave the mountain station together and split after 1.6 km. Every number here is worked out from the elevation data and the route lines behind our 3D view.

Summit day

Western route

The longer, steadier way to the top, and the one we suggest for a first big mountain day.

The first 3.5 km climb gently from the mountain station to 1,000 m. Then the route steepens, crosses the top of Vierranvárri at 1,708 m, drops 182 m to a saddle and climbs from 1,527 m to the summit ridge at 2,049 m. The last 200 m follow the ridge to the south summit.

Eastern route

Shorter and steeper. Almost every metre gained is a metre kept.

After the shared start the Eastern route turns north and climbs without a break. It passes 1,000 m after 2.5 km and 1,500 m after 3.9 km, and its steepest 500 m gains 252 m. It joins the summit ridge at 2,049 m, 200 m from the south summit.

Two days

Glacier and ice-axe course

Learn to move safely on snow and ice, then use it on the mountain.

Day one is footwork: walking in crampons, cutting steps and using the ice axe on slopes, and how to stop a slide. Day two is rope work: moving roped up, spotting and avoiding crevasses, and a simple rescue. No experience needed, just two good days of fitness.
